The Silkmen deducted six points for EFL regulation breaches
This comes in the wake of Club failing to pay the player wages on applicable due dates.
The club also failed to fulfill a league two fixture with Crewe Alexandra, originally scheduled to take place on 7 December 2019.
An independent Disciplinary Commission was appointed to judge the case in accordance with EFL Regulations.
At the hearing today the Club pleaded guilty to multiple charges including non-payment of wages and failure to fulfill League Two fixture with Crewe Alex.
The commission determined that a sporting sanction of 10 points, with four suspended, was appropriate when considering both the aggravating and mitigating factors in the case.
That means Macclesfield Town will face a six-point deduction to their League Two points.
The point deduction will take immediate effect with the decision remaining subject to appeal.
Macclesfield did play last Saturday drawing 1-1 away to Walsall but prominent journalist Ian Dennis tweeted.
There is some doubt at this stage whether supporters will be allowed inside the ground to watch Macclesfield Town v Plymouth on Saturday. It’s all to do with a safety certificate. “No comment” from Macclesfield.

It is also interesting to learn that Macclesfield Town is having safety certificate issues so it will be interesting to see what happens with Plymouth Argyle fixture.

If reports are to be believed the Argyle first-team squad has traveled to Cheshire today.
Macclesfield Town has announced ticket sales for tomorrow’s game have been suspended until we gain further clarity regarding this situation.
According to the latest reports, Macclesfield Town has provided the relevant documentation for 5 key areas to meet the safety certificate requirements to East Cheshire Council.
The Silkmen are awaiting a decision from the City Council to have their capacity reinstated.
Dennis has tweeted out from the official BBC account that the club submitted relevant documentation but might not have been in time. The tweet is attached below.
From what I can gather the position remains unchanged from Cheshire East Council and the Safety Advisory Group regarding the safety certificate. Macclesfield say they had supplied the relevant documentation but might not have been in time. Waiting for #mtfc announcement. #pafc

It’s official!
Macclesfield Town’s fixture with Plymouth Argyle will not go ahead as planned on Saturday 21 December after the club was issued with a zero capacity notice by the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG).
Macclesfield Town’s did request to play behind closed doors, however on consideration, as per the provisions in Regulation 33.1, the EFL did not agree to the request.
33.1 Behind closed doors. Save with the consent of The League or as a consequence of any disciplinary or regulatory proceedings, no Club may play any League or Cup Match behind closed doors so that the public are excluded from the ground.
As a result of the game not going ahead, the club will be charged with misconduct for failing to fulfill its fixture obligations.
