Both squads will travel to the USA for Pre-season on the same flight on July 16, and have a training camp at Notre Dame University,

Then the women’s team will play Cleveland Ambassadors, at Notre Dame University in Indiana and New York Athletic at Boston University for specially-invited guests.

While Jurgen Klopp’s men will play Borussia Dortmund at Notre Dame in Indiana, Sevilla at Boston University, and Sporting CP at Yankee Stadium in New York City on 20 July, 21 July, and 25 July respectively.

In New York, both squads will participate in community activities and then the Women’s team will also attend the match between Liverpool men’s team and Sporting CP at Yankee Stadium as guests.

“This is my fourth year attending the LFC pre-season tour with the men’s team. However, this year is extra special with it being the first time the women’s team has been included and we are now traveling as one big football family.” – Liverpool FC Women manager, Vicky Jepson

There is no doubt in saying that this will be a valuable experience for Sophie Bradley-Auckland and her teammates which include new arrivals Becky Jane and Melissa Lawley.

This is being done with the hope of raising the profile of the women’s game following the progress that is made during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

I’m absolutely delighted we are returning to the USA this summer with not one but two LFC teams. Ensuring LFC Women could embark on their first-ever tour of America is another sign of our commitment to the ‘two teams but one club’ ethos – Liverpool FC chief executive officer and chairman of Liverpool FC Women, Peter Moore
