Can Tottenham Hotspur retain 2018-19 Champions League Stars?
Tottenham Hotspur fans have always been really understanding of the club chairman Daniel Levy’s model. They seem to be really happy with New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and are a glass half full about their first ever champions league final loss. But will they be able to accept any of the current team stars leaving?
Lucrative champions League run might have given a boost to £365 million debt. To give perspective Clubs Revenue was £380 million. Most of the debt has arisen due to their 62000 seater Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which is estimated to have costed them close to £1 billion and fit-out and facilities at the Training Centre.
Here we are attaching Financial results – posted April 4, 2019. As we can see Tottenham might have their hands tied if they want to go after an £80 million+ rated player or even two £50 million-rated players due to their finances without selling existing stars.
Lucas Moura was the last signing spurs have made, he arrived in January of 2018 that means Spurs didn’t make any signings in the last 18 months.
In the present market where three European giants Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are rebuilding it will be tough for Spurs to retain their payers if any of the players show an interest in joining other teams but shockingly most of them apart from Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld have made any loud noise about leaving the north London club.
Tottenham might not be able to match the wages that other teams might be interested in paying for services of the talent at the disposal of the North London club.
There are only two options for Spurs right now, first one is retaining the existing players and manager by offering them better deals, Spending a net of £100 million in the hope of performing better next season or the second option would be rebuilding like they did when their Welsh star Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid for the then-record £85 million.
In the inflated market, Tottenham seems to be the only club that needs money to sign new players and needs to sell existing players for money
The players could also turn their heads to other clubs if they feel Champions League final is the best Spurs can achieve with the handicap they are in. It is very important that Tottenham retains the services of Argentinian manager Mauricio Pochettino who according to our sources believes that the final defeat was the first step in creating history with the club.
“We’re sorry we couldn’t get over the final hurdle, but it’s a great learning curve. We’ve got to keep this feeling of hurt and take it into next season.”#UCLfinal ⚪️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/ms7S0FrZpX

Some of the stars of the current team are Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min who could all fetch a transfer fee upwards of £85 million.
“It’s very tough to take, but this season is over now. I’m very proud of this team and our support. We have to go again.”#UCLfinal ⚪️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/PqtQ3wUVoz

Mauricio Pochettino is rumored to be interested in signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso who are all commanding big price tags. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.
On a positive note three of their players Jan Vertonghen, Lucas Moura, and Moussa Sissoko featured in the Champions League team of the year.
